Pastor Olabanjo Felix Gold of Image of God Evangelical and Prophetic Ministries has reportedly abandoned Christianity and embraced Ìṣẹ̀ṣe, the traditional Yoruba religious practice centred on Ifá.
The cleric announced his conversion in a video shared online, declaring that his spiritual journey had led him to the traditional faith and his new identity as a Babalawo.
In the video, Olabanjo introduced himself as a former pastor and founder of Image of God Evangelical Ministries before announcing his new spiritual identity.
“I am Pastor Olabanjo Felix Gold, who was formerly the founder of Image of God Evangelical Ministries before, but who is now Ifawamiri Aworan Olodumare, Babalawo of Ifá,” he said.
He also expressed appreciation to his Oluwo, Baba Aifuwapẹ, Oluṣẹgun Latunji, whom he identified as the Araba of Isararemọ, for guiding him on his new spiritual path.
“I want to use this time to thank my father, my Oluwo, my father, Aifuwapẹ, Oluṣẹgun Latunji, who is the Araba of Isararemọ,” Olabanjo said.
The former pastor further thanked other people who, according to him, supported him throughout his spiritual journey, while emphasising what he described as the importance of elders in traditional spiritual practice.
In a striking declaration, Olabanjo also criticised foreign religions and declared his preference for Ìṣẹ̀ṣe.
“All these foreign religions are lies and Ìṣẹ̀ṣe is the real deal,” he said.
His reported transition from Christian ministry to Ifá worship has generated reactions on social media, with many users expressing surprise over the decision and debating the circumstances surrounding his change of faith.
